The minister of Home Affairs Hon Mokoto Hloaele today held a media briefing on the celebration of the King’s birthday going to take place at Quthing on the 17th July.
As to commemorate the up coming celebration there will be a number of activities undertaken; on the 11th there will be an awarding ceremony for Security institutions and people of outstanding help on the nation, 12th minister of Home Affairs will be at Quthing Sebapala for livestock branding, 15th the rehearsals for the big day, 16th is the district celebration and on the 17th is the Nation’s celebration.
His Majesty’s birthday celebration is budgeted to cost about 2.6 million while last year the cost was estimated to be about 3 million as it was celebrated at Botha Buthe. There are 54 catering companies to cater for the event all from Quthing district.
As a way of giving Quthing community an opportunity to benefit, there will a repair of the roads to Quthing.
The king’s birthday will be celebrated at Berea in 2020, Thaba Tseka in 2021, Mohale’s Hoek in 2022 and 2023 will be celebrated at Matsieng and Setsoto stadium in 2023. His Majesty will be celebrating 60th birthday in 2023.
