BY REITUMETSE MABALEHA

Maseru- Once again, the country will be divided when the two titans clash in a league match.

On Saturday the 11th, Bantu will lock horns with Lioli FC. This season alone, they have already met thrice. On those three occasions, Lioli emerged victorious.

Nevertheless, every time these two giants meet it is more than just three just three points on the line; a winner get to walk away with bragging rights!

On one hand Bantu are still hoping to catch up the log leader to clinch the title for the third time consecutively. They are second on the log with 54 points. On their first meeting with Lioli this season, they lost by a goal to nil. Their following meeting was the most emotional. It was a cup final where they lost by two goals to one.  It was the most anticipated final of local football. Their last, was the semi-finals of MGC Cup, where they lost on penalties.

On the other hand, Lioli are fifth on the standings. They are fighting for a place in the Top 4. So, a win will be a good direction in that place. They have displayed a very poor football and have lost many important points, but facing their arch-rivals is a motivation in itself. If they don’t win for the team, they would at least want to win for the fans that have seemingly lost faith in them.

Diutlwileng Boikanyo and Swithberth Kum have been a real threat to Bantu this season. They have dismantled the defence horribly. They keep them on their toes the entire game. Mafa Moremoholo has also proven to be a threat to Bantu on a couple of occasions. He has led Lioli into victory on these three previous occasions. Their keeper Jessy Matsie is also on top of his game every time they face Bantu, so it shall be a tough one. Lebohand Sheleng has also played a pivotal part in the defence of Lioli. He has shown his worth in a couple of big games especially those featuring Matlama and Bantu. He has been able to dilute the likes of Neo Mokhachane.

As for Bantu, Lits’epe Marabe and Hlompho Kalake are also a danger to Tse Nala. They have their way of getting through the backline of their rivals.  Ntsane Lichaba has also been on his best. He has also earned his place into the national provisional squad. This alone speaks volumes about his performances. The likes of Fothoane and Mokone Marabe will also come handy.

A team that wants it more shall win it to secure the maximum points. And this will possibly play in the packed Setsoto Stadium.
